Vertical lines, bands or coloured patches don’t always mean a dead screen. Here is how to tell the likely causes apart.
Open the TV’s own settings menu. If the lines show there too, the fault is inside the TV. If only one input shows them, check the cable or source device.
Inside the TV the usual causes are the T-Con board, loose panel connections or damage to the panel itself.
