TV won’t turn on? What the red standby light is telling you

Try a different wall socket and extension board, check the power cable at the back, and press the power button on the TV itself, not only the remote.

A steady red light usually means the standby part of the power supply is alive but the TV is not starting fully. A blinking light is often a fault code that differs by brand, so check your manual.

Don’t open the TV or keep switching it on and off. Capacitors can hold a charge even when unplugged, and repeated attempts can make a small fault bigger.
